New Writings – One Act Comedies - No Place / Oh, Be Joyful
Sandyford Little Theatre are delighted to announce exciting new premiers – two new one-act comedies in the dlr Mill Theatre Studio.
‘No Place’, written and directed by Aoife Meagher, tells the story of Alice, searching for her first home – but the competition is fierce. ‘Home’ can mean so many different things to so many different people and, while the estate agent tries to adapt to his diverse (and sometimes odd) customers, does any true definition of ‘home’ shine through?
‘Oh, Be Joyful’, written by Carl Lombard and directed by Barry O’Connor, takes place on the sidelines of an under-10 boys soccer match. Here we meet Jay and Gibsey, the two managers of Kilbarrack Villa, who philosophise about the importance of winning, losing and when we need to think inside and outside of ‘the box’.
