Lunchtime performance by the Society of Recorder Players

The Society of Recorder Players [Ireland]is delighted to make its first appearance at the dlr Mill Theatre Maureen O’Hara Studio. Founded in 1971 by recorder players and teachers, the SRPI is an organisation (and a branch of the SRP [UK]) which aims to educate the public in the practice of music, particularly through the promotion of the recorder, while also providing a social and musical network for players of all ages and abilities.

This performance will showcase the amazing amount of music that has been composed and/or arranged for recorder ensemble over the years. It will also demonstrate the various sizes of recorders in the Society (from the extremely small Sopranino to the very large Contra Bass!). Ranging from Renaissance and Classical music to Modern and Traditional Irish music, there is something for everyone – we hope you will enjoy it!
