Glencullen Dundrum MDS are excited to be back for another great production of The Hired Man. Their recent sell out musical productions include Copacabana, Calamity Jane, Anything Goes to name but a few. These are performed and produced by the talented actors, singers, family and friends in our community and are very welcome here again in the dlr Mill Theatre.

The Hired Man is set predominantly in rural Cumbria from the 1890’s to the 1920’s and follows the life of John Tallentire, a farm labourer and coal miner,and his wife Emily. The politics of survival are an intricate part of the mix, whether it is the emotional sacrifices of Emily, who gives up her one great love, or the struggles of the trade unions to get better conditions for the men.
