Exhibition runs to April 15th 2020

The 35 species of butterfly in Ireland are increasingly under threat from environmental change, primarily driven by both the increasing population size of Ireland and resultant demands on our landscape, and changes in Ireland’s climate.
Butterflies have been around for at least 50 million years and probably evolved some 150 million years ago and they represent an important component of the earth’s rich biodiversity.
In this exhibition you can observe the magnificent colours, delicate details and intricate patterns of the butterflies that will remind you of the natural wonders that surround us and that we should never take for granted.
“We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” (Native American proverb)
