What better way to enjoy a beautiful summer’s evening than an outdoor performance of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy ‘As You Like It’. Come to see this most popular play, performed by Balally Players Theatre Company in the enchanting surroundings of the walled garden at St. Enda’s Park, Pearse Museum, under the direction of Karen Carleton.
Go back in time to follow along the tale of lovers Orlando and Rosalind who have been banished into the Forest of Arden and become involved in a story of mistaken identities, questionable poetry, laughter and cheer. Is it mere madness and folly, or will true love conquer all? All will be revealed with four evenings of captivating live performances of Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ as the sun sets over the walled garden.

Based in Dundrum, The Balally Players Theatre Company has been part of the amateur theatre movement in Ireland since its first performance in 1983. A vibrant group of passionate performers, most years the company produces two full length productions and a run of one-act plays in the Mill Theatre in Dundrum, a Christmas Variety show, competitive one-act plays for the drama festival circuit, and an outdoor Summer Shakespeare show. Balally Players Theatre Company is delighted to be back at the fabulous venue of the walled garden at St. Enda’s Park, Pearse Museum with their annual Summer Shakespeare, and hope you enjoy the production of ‘As You Like It’.
The Pearse Museum and St Enda’s Park was where Patrick Pearse lived and ran his innovative Irish-speaking school, Scoil Éanna, between 1910-16. The museum and park are approximately 8km from Dublin City Centre. Saint Enda’s Park, Grange Road, Dublin, D16 Y7Y5, is served by the number 16 bus, which stops close to the main entrance to the park on Grange Road.
