Approved EPV Course for Teachers 20th - 24th Aug 2018

Would you like to spend a week in the theatre learning how to create drama that you can take back to the classroom? Then this course is for you! This course aims to enable teachers to explore stimulus for drama and develop their confidence in creating drama in the classroom through the exploration of the strand units of the drama curriculum. The course is run in a working theatre so we will be looking at the theatre environment, lights sound and stage craft. We will also be working on key drama skills and providing practical ideas for you to bring back to your classroom as well as showing you how to start your own creative process through integration of subjects like Hisotry, SPHE, LIteracy, Poetry and Story. It promises to be a creative week, actively exploring drama in a dynamic and stimulating environment. Suitable for all levels of experience in drama.
About the Facilitators:
The course will be facilitated by primary school teacher Aoibhinn Finnegan (M.Ed Drama in Education, B.Ed, LIBSD) and Theatre Manager Kate Canning (B.A. – History & Sociology, Masters in Drama and Theatre Studies.)Aoibhinn has run her own Speech and Drama school for over 10 years and worked in the field of Arts as an actor, director, adjudicator and radio presenter. Kate is a director, actor and theatre manager and has worked in the field of arts teaching and facilitating for many years.
