The American College Dublin Performing Arts department under the direction of Deirdre Masterson has maintained a commitment to providing the highest calibre of artistic and educational experience to exceptionally talented young performing artists from around the world. In 2016, American College Dublin created history in providing Irelands first third level accredited degree and master’s programme in musical theatre studies, and presenting Ireland’s first musical theatre degree and masters graduates in 2019. It is gaining a reputation as one of the best places in the world to train for a career in musical theatre.

The faculty is passionate about constantly upholding and developing its reputation, ensuring American College Dublin students have the technical skills they need whilst also encouraging them to develop their artistic integrity, entrepreneurism and creativity to succeed as professional artists.

Musical Theatre and Performing Arts students at American College Dublin are taught by Industry leading staff and visiting professionals. Students are further advised by leading West End and Broadway practitioners, casting agents, managers and directors, along with experienced professionals and leading academics, giving American College Dublin graduates a unique and comprehensive support network and knowledge base they can utilise in the professional industry.
